Adina builds people in Romania and Uganda through long-term measures built on close relations and a focus on quality. The focus is on holistic thinking, effective help for self-help and sustainable assistance.
We run a small, efficient and unbureaucratic business. We are proud to say that over 95 percent of the funds we manage are spent on efforts in the field thanks to extensive voluntary efforts and good cooperation agreements with loyal supporters.
Administrative expenses can be kept down thanks to a good team of volunteer helpers with diverse expertise and solid sponsors who have followed us for many years.
The operating funds that ensure the activity both at home and abroad come from schools, kindergartens, companies, Norad, private donors and regular sponsors. The schools' action days are extremely important to us, and the income and commitment tell us that Norwegian schoolchildren actually care.
But these are schemes that also give a teacher good opportunities for new approaches to teaching, whether the topic is beggars, poverty or tomorrow's continent - Africa. We are happy to facilitate visits to both countries, and we have annually with groups of students and teachers to the south. Romania and Uganda are two countries that have a lot to show, in addition to our projects.
The projects in both countries are run in close collaboration with the partner organizations Fundatia Adina Stiftelsen Romania and Adina Foundation Uganda. Operations are closely monitored by local boards that report monthly to Norway, and there are Norwegian representatives on the local boards. This makes the exchange of information simple and efficient. It is imposing power for us to follow laws and regulations in the respective countries, and offer the employees a working environment that corresponds to the requirements we set for ourselves. Therefore, our activities, our Norwegian mindset and our way of collaborating are also good knowledge transfer.
The financing of operations in both countries takes place mainly with funds from Norway. It has proved difficult to get sponsors in both Romania and Uganda, but locally launched events and participation in local markets have provided some income.
Credible local anchoring builds up ownership to the projects, but we must acknowledge that the cultural differences in any case give us challenges which in turn require close follow-up in the form of visits from Norway. Close contact with local authorities who see the results makes us an attractive partner in both countries.
Another well-known Adina motto is: From poverty to hope for the future! Unfortunately, the motto is equally relevant both in the land by the Black Sea and below the equator. The goal in both countries is to make disadvantaged children and young people as independent as possible through schooling, direct financial support, work training and rehabilitation.

It is easy to get in touch with the day-to-day management and board members. We are available med informasjon i tekst og bilder, og stiller gjerne opp hvis det er ønskelig med et foredrag eller en Powerpoint visning.
The Adina Foundation is approved by The collection control. It gives our supporters extra security.
